NightPrime’s adherence to Indian OTT regulations under the IT Rules 2021 and DPDP Act 2023.

NightPrime is a Publisher of Online Curated Content (OCC) under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 (“IT Rules 2021”). We voluntarily adhere to the Universal Self-Regulation Code (USRC) issued by the IAMAI/DPCGC and follow the three-tier self-regulation mechanism prescribed under Part III of the IT Rules.
Every short film on NightPrime is self-classified into one of the following age-based categories in accordance with Schedule III of the IT Rules 2021: • U — Universal (suitable for all ages) • U/A 7+ — Universal with parental guidance for viewers under 7 • U/A 13+ — Universal with parental guidance for viewers under 13 • U/A 16+ — Universal with parental guidance for viewers under 16 • A — Adult (18 years and above only) When a film contains sensitive themes — violence, sex, nudity, substance use, or discriminatory content — it is accompanied by content descriptors and, where applicable, viewer discretion advisories displayed before playback.
NightPrime enforces access control mechanisms for U/A 13+, U/A 16+ and A-rated content. Viewers must confirm their age and, for A-rated content, must be signed in with a verified profile. Parental control PIN protection is available in the user profile settings for households with minors.
NightPrime does not host content that: • Threatens the sovereignty, integrity, security, or friendly relations of India • Depicts children in a sexually explicit manner • Promotes violence, hatred, or incitement against any community • Violates the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971 • Contains defamatory or obscene material within the meaning of Indian law Any content violating these standards will be removed within 24 hours of complaint and action initiated against the uploader.
In compliance with Rule 11 of the IT Rules 2021, we operate a three-tier grievance redressal system: Tier I — Grievance Officer (internal, response within 24 hours, resolution within 15 days) Tier II — Self-Regulatory Body (Digital Publisher Content Grievances Council — DPCGC) Tier III — Inter-Departmental Committee constituted by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting Full officer contact details are on our /grievance page.
NightPrime is a Data Fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. We collect only the personal data necessary to provide our service and process it lawfully with your consent. Under Rule 18 of the IT Rules 2021, Publishers of Online Curated Content must furnish specified information to the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB), Government of India.
